What is Patreon?

Do I need an active subscription?
No. To get credits to unlock content you need to become a member. However, you can cancel your membership at any time. You can join, receive your monthly credits to unlock content, and then cancel if you wish. If you keep your membership active, you will continue to accumulate credits every month to unlock even more content. But once you get credits you can use them and access your content without needing an active membership.
What are Membership Tiers?
Tiers are the different membership levels available. Each tier has a specific price and provides a certain amount of monthly credits. Higher tiers offer more credits, giving you access to more content.
Is Patreon secure?
Yes, Patreon is a highly secure platform used by millions of creators and patrons worldwide. They use industry-standard encryption to protect your payment information and personal details. We do not store your credit card information on our servers; everything is handled securely by Patreon.
What happens when upgrading or downgrading tiers?
If you downgrade, you keep all your current credits. Starting the next billing cycle, you will receive the credit amount for your new tier. If you upgrade, you will receive the difference in credits immediately, and then the full amount of the new tier starting next month.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. You can edit or cancel your pledge at any time directly from your Patreon settings. This change will automatically sync with our system. You will retain your membership benefits until the end of your current billing cycle. Any accumulated credits will remain in your account for you to use, even after your membership ends.
Can I access my content anytime?
Yes. Once you unlock content using your credits, it is yours forever. You can access and download it at any time, regardless of your current membership status.
Why can't I just buy individual items?
Patreon is designed for supporting creators rather than a traditional shop. However, since you can cancel at any time, you can simply join for a month, use your credits to unlock specific items, and then cancel. If you enjoy the content and stay subscribed, your credits will accumulate over time, allowing you to unlock new content regularly—just like shopping at your favorite store.
What happens to my accumulated credits?
Your credits never expire. You can use them to unlock content at any time, whether your membership is active or not. Once you have earned credits, they are yours to keep until you decide to spend them.
